COUNTY SEEKS VOLUNTEERS FOR GREAT AMERICAN CLEANUP EVENT

Doña Ana County will participate in the national Keep America Beautiful Great American Cleanup event, which puts volunteers to work in community improvement projects around the state.
The local cleanup is scheduled Saturday, April 29 from 8-11:30 a.m. at the Dona Ana Community Resource Center at 5745 Ledesma Dr. in the Village of Doña Ana. Sign up begins at 8:15 a.m., and the county seeks at least 50 volunteers.

Doña Ana County will provide all necessary supplies for the clean up, including trash bags, gloves, rakes, bottled water and snacks.

Throughout New Mexico, more than 25 communities will tackle litter removal, beautification, recycling and other community improvement projects as part of the Great American Cleanup initiative.

To volunteer locally, call Judith Ontiveros at (505) 647-7127 or America Terrazas at (505) 635-7704. Last year’s event included more than 10,000 volunteers across New Mexico.
