DOÑA ANA COUNTY MAKES IMPROVEMENTS TO COUNTY WEBSITE

The Doña Ana County Information Technology Department has rolled out new improvements to Doña Ana County’s website.

Effective immediately, users can use a new and simpler domain name - donaanacounty.org - to reach the county’s website and to communicate with employees by e-mail. The old domain name - co.dona-ana.nm.us - will remain in operation for a few months until all departments can change business cards to reflect the simpler version.

“The new domain name will make it easier for residents and researchers to do business with Doña Ana County,” said Public Information Director Jess Williams. “We deliberately timed this change closely to the move to the new Doña Ana County Government Center.”

Also effective immediately, vendors and the general public can access through the website all active requests for proposals (RFPs) and bids advertised for county contracts through the Doña Ana County Purchasing Department. While the change is designed to help save postage and paper, it also will likely bring more competition to the county’s vending solicitations, thereby resulting in savings for the taxpayers.

The link to the Purchasing Department at http://www.donaanacounty.org/finance/purchasing/ allows people to browse and seek information about open contracts, RFPs and other vending solicitations.
