SPEED LIMIT TO BE REDUCED ON SHALEM COLONY ROAD

Effective Jan. 17, the speed limit on Shalem Colony Road will be reduced to 35 miles per hour, with enforcement by the Doña Ana County Sheriff's Department.

The Doña Ana County Engineering Department has determined that Shalem Colony Road has too many clear-sight issues and sharp turns to warrant the current 45 miles-per-hour speed limit.

The New Mexico Department of Transportation has approved the speed-limit modification.
