TREASURER REMINDS PROPERTY OWNERS OF PAYMENT DEADLINE

Doña Ana County Treasurer Jim Schoonover reminds property owners in Doña Ana County that they have until Dec. 10 to pay their first-half property taxes before state-mandated interest and penalties begin to accumulate. To accommodate last-minute payments, the Treasurer’s Office will open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10 to process payments.

The Doña Ana County Treasurer's Office mailed out all property tax bills in late October. Property owners who did not receive bills should immediately contact the Treasurer’s Office at (505) 647-7433.

“We make every effort to notify every property owner of their tax obligations,” Schoonover said. “If for some reason you haven’t paid your property tax bill, please don’t miss the Dec. 10 deadline. Beginning Dec. 11, all unpaid taxes will be assessed with penalties and interest that cannot be waived for any reason. We urge all property owners to avoid these expenses by making arrangements to pay their property taxes on time through our office.”
