VOLUNTEERS SOUGHT TO SERVE ON COUNTY HEALTH ALLIANCE

Doña Ana County is seeking volunteers to serve on new health services alliance that will work through the county’s Health and Human Services Department to advise the Board of County Commissioners on a wide range of health care and human services issues.

The alliance concept was approved in 2004 by the Board of County Commissioners to consolidate a variety of advisory boards whose work often overlapped. The new alliance will consider a broad range of health and human-service needs across the county and will facilitate more direct lines of communications between internal departments and external agencies.

Reflecting the Commission’s desire for the alliance to comprise a broad cross-section of the community, applicants are being solicited from people who work in both the public and private sectors. Applicants with ties to non-profit organizations, professional associations and the academic community also are welcome. Residents of all Doña Ana County communities are encouraged to apply.

To request an application for alliance membership, contact the Doña Ana County Health and Human Services Department at (505) 528-7958. Deadline for applications is 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, 2005.
