VOLUNTEERS SOUGHT TO ASSIST WITH MURAL PROJECT IN CHAPARRAL

Artist David Herrera has approached the Doña Ana County Environmental Services Department to help find volunteers to create a new mural for the Disabled Americans Veterans of America building in Chaparral.

Environmental Services Director Luis Morales said he has reviewed the project and will commit grant funding from the Keep America Beautiful grant to help purchase supplies for the project. Betty McKnight, chairman of the local Keep America Beautiful Committee, was the architect of the project, Morales said.

“With a design in hand and funding for supplies secured, the next step is to identify volunteers who want to help us complete this project for the community,” Morales said. “Any donations of time or materials will be greatly appreciated.
