HEAVY FLOODING REPORTED IN VADO AREA

The Doña Ana County Emergency Operation Center has been advised that several residents in the Vado and Del Cerro communities are suffering heavy flooding at this time. Resources are being deployed on a prioritized basis throughout the county.

County, NMSU and city crews are working closely together to coordinate responses. The Las Cruces chapter of the American Red Cross is monitoring the situation at the EOC and will determine if, when and where emergency shelters should be opened.

The Bruce King Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum is being visited by LCPD to determine if anyone is in the complex. If so, they will be evacuated by NMSU and Las Cruces Police.

In the City of Las Cruces, traffic signals are out at several intersections, and travel on all major roads is discouraged.
