BUREAU OF ELECTIONS SEEKS POLL WORKERS FROM ALL POLITICAL PARTIES

As the Nov. 2 General Election draws closer, Doña Ana County Clerk Rita Torres is urging registered voters to sign up to work the polls. Training classes are being scheduled for new and returning poll workers.

All classes are open to any interested persons. To become a poll worker, a resident must complete one of the two-hour classes. Class sizes are limited, so calling ahead is advised.

Each poll worker and standby poll worker chosen to work on Election Day will receive $100 for attending the training and working on Election Day. Those chosen to serve as presiding judges at the polls will receive a total of $150.

For more information, call the Doña Ana County Bureau of Elections at (505) 647-7428. Residents calling from outside the Las Cruces area may call toll-free at 1-877-827-7200 and request extension 7428.
