SHERIFF PLANS HOLIDAY WEEKEND SATURATION PATROLS, CHECKPOINTS

Doña Ana County Sheriff’s deputies will conduct saturation patrols throughout the month of July in areas of the county where statistics show a high incidence of drunken driving.

In addition, the Doña Ana County Sheriff's Department plans two checkpoints from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. on both Friday, July 2, and Sunday, July 4. The checkpoints will be set up at undisclosed locations along heavily trafficked county roads.

Overtime pay for deputies manning the checkpoints and conducting the saturation patrols will be from state and federal grants dedicated to DWI enforcement.
