ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES TO SPONSOR CHAPARRAL COMMUNITY CLEANUP

The Doña Ana County Environmental Services Department will conduct cleanup activities in the community of Chaparral on Saturday, May 15.

From 8 a.m. until 6 p.m., county residents are invited to meet in Chaparral to take part in the Great American Cleanup, an initiative of Keep America Beautiful.

County Environmental Services from both Doña Ana County and Otero County will provide supplies for the project, including gloves, bags and water. The project staging point will be at Dolores Wright Memorial Park.

"We can greatly improve the appearance of Doña Ana County -- and maintain it -- through partnerships between the county and its residents," Assistant County Manager Mack Wilson said.
