COUNTY EMPLOYEES PREPARE COMMUNITY HOLIDAY BASKETS

Dozens of Doña Ana County departments and individual employees have voluntarily prepared holiday gift baskets for distribution to area nursing homes, shelters and other destinations later today.

The holiday-basket project was coordinated by the Doña Ana County Employee Activities Committee (EAC), whose president, Liz Camunez of the Building Inspections Office, said she wanted the committee to involve itself more in community outreach programs.

The baskets are on display this afternoon in the Grand Lobby of the County Manager’s Complex at 180 W. Amador Ave. in Las Cruces. The EAC has arranged for the baskets to be judged by an independent panel of judges at 2:30 p.m. The three baskets judged to be the best of the batch will earn cash prizes for their creators. The prizes will be provided through the EAC checking account. Distribution of the baskets will occur after 3 p.m.

The EAC is a non-profit organization of county employees dedicated to morale-building activities.
