COUNTY ANNOUNCES EXTERNAL AGENCY FUNDING APPLICATION AVAILABILITY

Doña Ana County has announced its annual open application period for external agency funding for the period of July 1, 2004 through June 30, 2005. Completed applications must be returned by 5 p.m., Monday, April 19, 2004. Two separate applications are available for Health Services and General Discretionary Funding by the Board of County Commissioners.

A Physician Specialty collaborative to serve the under- and uninsured has been added as a Health Services priority this year. Other Health Services priority funding categories include: Primary Medical Care, Dental/Vision/Pharmaceutical Services, Medical Transport, Hospice Care, Maternal/Child/Adolescent Health, Behavioral Health and Life-Threatening Chronic Diseases.

Discretionary funding appropriated by the Board of County Commissioners is for a wide variety of non-health related programs in Doña Ana County. Questions regarding applications for BOCC discretionary funding should be addressed to the Doña Ana County Financial Services Division at (505) 647-7214.

Eligible applicants for both types of funding include non-profit, 501c3, state, federal and quasi-government agencies. Applications for both Health Service and BOCC

Discretionary funding applications may be picked up at the Doña Ana County Finance Department, 180 West Amador or 125 W. Boutz in Las Cruces, N.M.
