COUNTY COMMISSION SEEKS APPLICANTS FOR CLERK'S POSITION

The Doña Ana County Board of Commissioners is scheduled to select a new County Clerk at their regular meeting of March 9, 2004. The selected person will fill out an unexpired term, which ends Dec. 31, 2004. The salary of the County Clerk is set by state statute at $49,545 per year.

The County Clerk is the official custodian of county records, including deeds, marriage licenses, business permits and subdivision plats. The clerk also oversees the staff of the Bureau of Elections, and is the person responsible for meeting election deadlines and protocols established by the State of New Mexico.

Applicants should send a letter of interest and a current resume to the Board of County Commissioners, 180 W. Amador Ave., Las Cruces, N.M. 88001. Deadline for receipt of applications is 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2004.
