SHERIFF HERNANDEZ TO DISTRIBUTE ATHLETIC EQUIPMENT TO DEL CERRO KIDS

Doña Ana County Sheriff Juan Hernandez and some of his deputies will be at the Del Cerro Community Center at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27 to distribute athletic shoes and basketball equipment to area youth.

“I have dozens of pairs of shoes donated by the Nike Corporation to distribute,” Hernandez said. “Our department has been busy in the last several months getting a PAL program up and running in the community of Del Cerro. This is one more step toward giving the youth of that community a healthy and productive package of activities that will shape them into good citizens."

Hernandez said he will also use state and federal grant funding to bolster the PAL program across the county in ways that will further benefit youth and strengthen families.
