SATURATION PATROLS SCHEDULED FOR WEEKEND

Doña Ana County Sheriff Juan Hernandez will implement saturation patrols across Doña Ana County this Saturday night.

Using Operation DWI grant funds, the sheriff will pay overtime to put extra deputies on the road for the saturation patrols between 11 p.m. and 3 a.m.

Patrols will be set up in areas of the county where roads are not accommodating to checkpoints. Other target areas include roads where statistics indicate high numbers of alcohol-related accidents and/or arrests in the past.

A saturation patrol conducted on New Year’s Eve yielded 21 citations and three arrests in the U.S. Highway 70 area.
