WEED AND SEED PARTY OFFERS AN OPPORTUNITY TO GIVE, SHARE

In an effort to support efforts by the City of Las Cruces to promote a safer neighborhood for many of his constituents, District 5 County Commissioner Gilbert T. Apodaca is lending his support to the Weed n’ Seed Halloween Party, scheduled from 5-10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31 at the A. Fielder Memorial Safe Haven in the Mesquite Street area of Las Cruces.

“This event will feature games, prizes and refreshments for the children of one of Las Cruces’ most historic neighborhoods,” Apodaca said. “I applaud the City of Las Cruces for its commitment to these children and to the rehabilitation of the neighborhood.”

Coordinators of the Halloween event are seeking donations of candy, baked goods and other prizes that can be handed out to the children who attend. Volunteers also are being sought to help staff the event, which is expected to draw scores of children and their families.
