FREE DUMPING AT CITY STATION CANCELLED FOR COUNTY RESIDENTS

The South Central Solid Waste Authority on Amador Avenue has terminated its policy of allowing county residents to dump trash at the facility free of charge.

City of Las Cruces residents who bring utility receipts to the facility will still be allowed one free dump per month, but people who reside outside the city will be charged for all trips to the facility.

The change is effective immediately.

County residents can still dump for free at any of the eight county-owned convenience stations, which are located in the areas of Anthony, La Mesa, Hill, Butterfield, Mesquite, La Union, Hatch and Garfield. Those stations are normally open Fridays and weekends, except during holidays.
