BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO INTERVIEW FIVE MANAGER FINALISTS

An independent evaluation committee has forwarded five names from the 158 applicants for the position of Doña Ana County Manager. Commission Chairman Paul B. Curry said he and his fellow commissioners will soon begin scheduling interviews with the finalists.

In a letter from the evaluation committee to Curry, Committee Chair Lowell Catlett said the field originally was narrowed down to eight candidates, one of whom withdrew and two of whom were eliminated after telephone interviews.

The names and resumes of the remaining five finalists were forwarded to the individual commissioners on Monday, June 30.

The five finalists are: Grant County Manager Arthur H. ‘Harry’ Burgess III, of Silver City, N.M.; Interim Doña Ana County Manager Brian D. Haines, of Las Cruces; Kent County Administrator Robert McLeod, of Dover, Del.; Attorney Robert Dale Morrison, of Albuquerque, N.M.; and Assistant Doña Ana County Manager Malcolm ‘Mack’ Wilson, of El Paso, Texas.

Curry said the individual commissioners will now have the opportunity to review the application packets of the five finalists before an interview schedule is formulated.

The members of the Board of County Commissioners appointed the evaluation committee members. The evaluation committee members were Rep. Joseph Cervantes, Catlett, Tom Halsell, Kari Mitchell, Nikki MacDonald, Sue Padilla and Rick Richardson.
