COUNTY HIRES ARTURO RODRIGUEZ AS DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES

Doña Ana County Interim Manager announced the appointment of Arturo Rodriguez as the director of the county Human Resources Department.

Rodriquez, whose first day on the job was Monday, reports directly to Assistant County Manager Mack Wilson. Rodriguez will be responsible for many facets of employee policy, such as recruitment, discipline and benefits and compensation. He also will oversee compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Rodriguez comes to Doña Ana County from the City of Santa Fe, for which he was collectively employed about four years as the director of human resources. He also was Santa Fe County’s director of human resources for about three years.
Rodriguez holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Metropolitan State College in Denver. He also earned his master’s in statistics and psychology at New Mexico State University.

“I’ve been away for about 16 years, and it’s great to be back,” Rodriguez said. “I have so many fond memories of Las Cruces.”
