CHAPARRAL TEEN DIES IN SINGLE-VEHICLE ACCIDENT

A Chaparral teen was fatally injured Wednesday night in an apparent motor-vehicle rollover in Chaparral.

Yessica Falcon, 18, was driving north on Amparo Road when her vehicle apparently swerved, hit an embankment and rolled over at least two times. Falcon was ejected from the vehicle during the rollovers. Falcon died from her injuries as emergency personnel arrived at the scene at approximately 7 p.m.

An investigation of the accident is still ongoing. The speed at which Falcon was traveling is yet to be determined. There is evidence Falcon used her seat belt, but if so, the buckle did not properly restrain her.

Alcohol is not a factor in the accident. A report from the medical investigations office is still pending.
