SHERIFF’S BOMB SQUAD DEFUSES BOMB SCARE

The Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Department Bomb Squad responded to the Third Judicial Court Complex, where a caller told an office worker a bomb was in the building.
At about 3 p.m., an employee of the court clerk’s office received a phone call, in which the caller reportedly said, “There is a bomb in your building,” and hung up. The employee immediately called for emergency personnel to respond.
The sheriff’s bomb squad did not detect any such device, nor did the sheriff’s bomb-sniffing dog. Court proceedings resumed and other offices were back to business shortly after the building was cleared. The case is still under investigation.
