DWI PROGRAM OFFERS MINI-GRANTS TO AREA ENTITIES

In an effort to combat drunken driving in Doña Ana County, the county’s DWI Program is offering mini-grants of up to $5,000 for area entities that can put together media campaigns targeting high-risk populations.

High-risk populations in Doña Ana County have been identified as: Hispanic males aged 25-35 with annual incomes of less than $10,000; youth aged 15-20; first-time DWI offenders; and community college and university students.

Current recipients of DWI community education mini-grants are eligible to apply for additional media activity funding related to ongoing projects.

Deadline for grant applications is 5 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2003. Grant awards will be announced Friday, March 14, 2003.
