RESULTS OF FEB. 14 SHERIFF’S SATURATION PATROL

Doña Ana County Sheriff Juan Hernandez implemented saturation patrols across Doña Ana County Friday, Feb. 14, 2003. Using Operation DWI grant funds, the sheriff paidovertime to put seven extra deputies on the road for the saturation patrols.

Patrols were set up from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. in areas of the county where roads are not accommodating to checkpoints. Other target areas included roads where statistics indicate high numbers of alcohol-related accidents and/or arrests in the past.

2 arrest warrants served (subjects arrested)
3 citations for no proof of insurance
2 citations for no driver's license
2 citations for driving while license suspended/revoked
1 citation for speeding
1 citation for failure to dim headlights
5 citations for improper equipment
1 citation for unlawful use of driver’s license
