COUNTY GIS SPECIALIST TEAMS UP WITH REALTORS’ ASSOCIATION TO OFFER CLASS

Doña Ana County Geographical Information System Specialist Keith Odenheim will conduct a class on computerized mapping research for the Las Cruces Realtors’ Association.

The class will begin at 9 a.m. Monday, Feb. 10, 2003 at the Las Cruces Realtors’ Association Conference and Training Center at 150 E. Idaho Ave.

The county maintains an extensive electronic county-wide mapping database that Realtors can use for a variety of sophisticated research applications. The one-hour course facilitated by Odenheim will delineate costs and equipment needed to access the database. In addition, Odenheim will offer a summary of GIS technology and how it differs from conventional mapping. He also will present an overview of available records and then demonstrate how to locate and exhibit properties for listings and sales comparisons.

Odenheim also will show attendees how to use GIS information to increase multiple-listing efficiency, locate comparable-sale information and conduct graphic analysis of individual properties, including site selection, census data and infrastructure.

For more information, call Odenheim at (505) 647-7486 or the Las Cruces Realtors’ Association at (505) 524-0658.
