JUÁREZ MAN IN STABLE CONDITION AFTER SHOOTING

A Juárez man is in stable condition after being shot in the neck on Saturday in Chaparral.

Ismael Jurado, 19, suffered a 9mm gunshot wound to the right side of his neck at about 5:30 p.m. Saturday. The Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Department responded to and is investigating the shooting. Jurado was airlifted to Thomason General Hospital in El Paso for treatment. He is in stable condition.

Fernando Hernandez, 28, of México, was arrested and charged with a third-degree count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Hernandez is an undocumented alien who was reportedly living in the 1000 block of Enchantment Drive in Chaparral. Hernandez is being held at the Doña Ana County Detention Center on a $250,000 cash bond.
