REMOTE BROADCAST AIMED AT RECRUITING FIRE VOLUNTEERS

On Friday, 101 Gold will air a live radio broadcast from the Anthony Volunteer Fire Department, in cooperation with the Doña Ana County Fire Marshal’s Office and the Doña Ana County Office of Public Information and Special Projects.

County Fire Marshal Nate Marshall will speak about the importance of volunteerism by residents in the county’s 16 fire districts. Information will be available to any residents who are interested in volunteering for their respective fire districts.

“Many times, it’s the volunteers who are the first responders to emergency situations in the county’s rural areas,” Marshall said.

The Anthony fire station is located west of Interstate Highway 10 off of the Chaparral/Anthony exit.

For more information, call county Public Information Director Jess Williams at (505) 647-7229. Residents calling from outside the Las Cruces area may call toll-free at 1-877-827-7200 and request extension 7229.
