COUNTY EMPLOYEES DONATE EASTER BASKETS TO COMMUNITY ENTITIES

For the second year running, Doña Ana County employees got into the spirit of competition and charity in the Good Friday Easter Basket Contest sponsored by the Employee Activity Committee.

Seventeen departments competed for three $50 cash prizes,
with the winners being the Sheriff’s Department (Deputy Bunny and His Posse), Finance (The Easter Basket Carousel), and Community Development (The Giant Bunny Basket).

Judges were Terry Baker of Dr. Baker’s Office, Rosie Monarrez of Talbot Agency and Al Solis of the county Detention Center. They said choosing winners from the baskets on display was difficult because all of them were so creative and well-planned.

After the judging, the baskets were distributed to La Casa Group Home, the Gospel Rescue Mission, Las Cruces Nursing Center, Safe Haven, Memorial Medical Center’s Children’s Ward and Los Jardin de los Niños.
