COUNTY SYSTEMS BACK ONLINE: PAYROLL AND VENDOR CHECKS NOT DELAYED

A serious computer problem that had threatened to delay the Doña Ana County payroll for Feb. 15, along with hundreds of checks to county vendors, has been solved.

The county’s financial and accounting systems were brought back on line shortly after 8 a.m. this morning. The county’s Finance Department staff will immediately begin to start inputting data that will allow the payroll and vendor checks to be issued on time.

Several members of the Finance Department staff are expected to work all day and all night Tuesday in the recovery effort. Their extra hours follow a week’s worth of all-nighters by the Information Systems Department.

County Commission Chairman D. Kent Evans is expected to recognize the efforts of all staff who contributed to the recovery during this morning’s regular meeting of the Doña Ana County Board of Commissioners.
