COUNTY SEEKS TO FILL SEAT ON VALUATION PROTEST BOARD

Doña Ana County is accepting applications for open alternate seats on the County Valuation Protest Board.

Alternates serve when regular board members cannot attend protest hearings. Generally, each candidate should expect a commitment of several full workdays each year for protest hearings. The New Mexico State Department of Taxation and Revenue will reimburse each alternate board member at the rate of $80 per day and 25-cents per mile for round-trip transportation on scheduled hearing dates to the Doña Ana County Courthouse.

To be considered, send a letter of interest and a resume to the Valuation Protest Board Nomination Committee at Room 106 of the Doña Ana County Courthouse, 251 W. Amador Ave., Las Cruces, N.M. 88005. Applicants with substantial knowledge of the Doña Ana County real estate market and appraisal methodology are preferred. Deadline for receipt of applications is 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2001. The committee’s nominee(s) for the post will be submitted to the County Commission for approval at an upcoming meeting.
