LEN CAUDLE HIRED TO HEAD COUNTY’S HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT

Len Caudle has been hired by Doña Ana County Manager David R. King to take the reins of the county’s Human Resources Department. Caudle’s first day on the job was Monday, July 30, 2001.
Caudle comes to the county with 18 years of front-line and managerial experience in the field of personnel and human resources. He has held high-level positions in both governmental and private-industry in Texas and Nevada. Most recently, he was a self-employed consultant on personnel issues in Laughlin, Nev.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in public administration from San Diego State University, and he has a wide range of computer skills.
Caudle said he is excited about the prospect of leading one of the county’s most integral departments.
“I’m looking forward to working within the county,” Caudle said. “The Human Resources Department has a great staff. Together, we can continue to improve the hiring and separation processes that link us to our employees, as well as to work toward streamlined policies and better communication.”
As director of human resources for Doña Ana County, Caudle will earn $54,983 per year and coordinate benefits and policies for more than 600 employees. He also will coordinate recruitment and retention programs designed to further professionalize the county’s work force.
“I’m delighted that Len has accepted the position,” King said. “His enthusiasm and experience will be of great benefit to the county, and he has indicated to me that he wants to hit the ground running to improve on the good work that is evolving in the county’s Human Resources Department.”
Caudle succeeds Vicki Lusk, who has served as interim director since Dec. 8, 2000, when former director Kim Calvert resigned to take a job in Florida.
