COUNTY EMPLOYEES PREPARE COMMUNITY HOLIDAY BASKETS

Dozens of Doña Ana County employees have voluntarily prepared holiday gift baskets for distribution to area nursing homes, shelters and other destinations later this week.
The holiday-basket project was coordinated by the Doña Ana County Employee Activities Committee (EAC), whose president, Linda A. Lujan of the county Assessor’s Office, said she wanted the committee to involve itself more in community outreach programs.
The baskets are on display this week in the Grand Lobby of the County Manager’s Complex at 180 W. Amador Ave. in Las Cruces. The EAC has arranged for the baskets to be judged by a panel of county commissioners at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2001. The three baskets judged to be the best of the batch will earn $25 gift certificates for their creators. The gift certificates will be provided through the EAC checking account.

The EAC is a non-profit organization of county employees dedicated to morale-building activities. Other upcoming activities include participation in the March of Dimes Walk-a-thon on Saturday, April 28, and a bowling party for county employees and their families on Saturday, May 12.
