DAVID KING TAPPED TO BE DOÑA ANA COUNTY MANAGER

The Doña Ana County Board of Commissioners has offered the county manager’s position to David R. King, the county’s current director of Parks and Facilities.
King was one of three finalists interviewed for the position today. The other two were Taos County Manager Robert Dale Morrison and Assistant Doña Ana County Manager Malcolm “Mack” Wilson.
Contract negotiations with King will begin next week, however he already has verbally agreed to accept the position at an annual salary of $75,000. As county manager, King, a graduate of New Mexico State University with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, will oversee and manage all county operations and supervise all department heads and oversee the budget.
King is the former owner/operator of a successful financial consulting agency, Aegis Natural LLC, of Barker, Texas, which he held from 1998 to this year. He also was president of Nitrotec Energy Corporation of Houston, Texas, from 1995 to 1998, and he was general manager of engineering, design and start-up operations for Amoco in Houston from 1980 to 1995.
The commissioners all agreed that King’s supervisory, technical and management experience complemented Wilson’s financial and government background, thereby forming a strong management team.
