VINSON ACCEPTS COUNTER OFFER FROM LUNA COUNTY FOR MANAGER’S JOB

The man who had been selected to be Doña Ana County’s new manager decided Wednesday to withdraw his acceptance of the offer after the Luna County Commission made him a counter offer to stay on in Luna County.
Although not all the details to Scott Vinson’s Doña Ana County contract had been ironed out, he had accepted the manager’s position here in principle last week. Today’s announcement means the Doña Ana County Board of Commissioners will take a new look at the applicants for the position and decide whether to conduct new interviews, conduct a new search from scratch or begin negotiations with an alternate candidate.
“Obviously, we are disappointed that Mr. Vinson will not be coming to Doña Ana County, but we are confident that we can find another qualified candidate,” said Commission Chairman Carlos Garza.
