COMMISSIONER E. ‘LALO’ MEDINA SCHEDULES ANTHONY COMMUNITY MEETING

District 2 County Commissioner Eduardo ‘Lalo’ Medina has scheduled a community meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 11, 2000, at St. Anthony’s Parish Hall in Anthony.
Consistent with his ongoing outreach efforts to communities in his district, Medina said he is eager to hear residents’ concerns about matters ranging from road improvements and law enforcement to codes issues and the county’s new solid waste ordinance. The problem of illegal dumping in District 2 also will be addressed, Medina said.

Media said he already has made arrangements to have several representatives of county government on hand to answer questions directly. Among those who will be present, he said, are Sheriff Juan Hernandez, County Manager Fernando Macias, Director of Transportation George Avalos, South Central Solid Waste Authority Director Ellen Smyth and Valecia Gavin, representing the Border Environmental Health Coalition.
