COUNTY EXTENDS APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION

Doña Ana County is seeking applicants who are willing to serve on the Planning & Zoning Commission, and the application deadline has been extended to May 5. The Planning and Zoning Commission reviews land-use and other development matters at public hearings conducted twice monthly at the Doña Ana County Courthouse at 251 W. Amador Ave. in Las Cruces.
Business brought before the P&Z Commission includes: variances, planned-unit developments, zone-change applications, creation of community districts, subdivision reviews and approvals and appeals of staff decisions. The P&Z Commission regularly makes recommendation reports to the Board of County Commissioners related to the county land-use ordinance and its subdivision regulations.
All interested persons, including persons already serving on the P&Z Commission who seek to be reappointed, are encouraged to apply. Each applicant must send a letter of interest along with a current resume (showing past work experience and education) to: Doña Ana County Planning Department, 430 S. Main St., Las Cruces, N.M. 88001, attn: Janine Divyak. Applications also may be faxed to (505) 647-7255 or hand delivered to the Doña Ana County Community Development office.
