BUREAU OF ELECTIONS DESIGNATES SPECIAL HOURS, PLACES FOR EARLY VOTING

Voters in Doña Ana County who want to avoid long lines at the polls on Nov. 3 will have the option to vote early, beginning Wednesday, Oct. 14, 1998.
Chief Deputy County Clerk Ernest Fragoso said four sites across the county will be geared up to handle early voting from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday up until the general election. Those sites are: Room 104 of the Doña Ana County Courthouse at 251 W. Amador Ave. in Las Cruces; the Hatch School Board Room at 403 Main St. in Hatch; the Anthony Community Center at 875 N. Main St. in Anthony; and the East Mesa Fire Station at the corner of Porter Road and Highway 70 just east of Las Cruces. Each site also will be open all day Saturday, Oct. 31, to accommodate early voters.
In addition, the Doña Ana County Courthouse will be open Saturday, Oct. 24. It will be the only site open that day for the purpose of early voting.
Fragoso said that after Saturday, Oct. 31., all remaining voters will have to vote at their assigned polling places on Election Day.
In all cases, he said, voters will face a ballot containing national, state and local races, as well as a number of constitutional amendment and bond proposals.
