DETENTION CENTER GRADUATES 18 OFFICER CADETS

Eighteen new detention center officers will be sworn in after having successfully completing a seven-week Basic Detention Officers’ Academy at the Doña Ana County Detention Center.

The public is invited to attend the graduation ceremony, which will take place at the Commission Chambers of the Doña Ana County Government Center on Friday, May 31, at 10 a.m.

The graduating cadets have satisfactorily completed the seven-week Basic Detention Officers’ Academy, which consists of physical training, classroom instruction and field experience. All training is done in-house at the Doña Ana County Detention Center.

District 2 Doña Ana County Commissioner Dr. David J. Garcia will deliver the commencement address, and Doña Ana County Probate Judge Alice Salcido will administer the oaths of service.

Graduating detention officers are: Denise Alvarez, Adrian Balderrama, Luis Calzada, Carlos de la Huerta, Lori Diaz, Jeremy Gallosa, David Goniotakis, Victor Gonzalez, Anthony Harrison, Derek Holder, Martin Ibarra, Aaron Martinez, Eric Melendrez, David Pakinkis, Claudia Renteria, Maria Rubalcava, Guadalupe Salinas and John Thompson.
