SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT APPLIES FOR GRANT FUNDING, OPEN TO PUBLIC COMMENT

The Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Department is seeking public comment in advance of an application for grant funding through the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program.

The JAG Program is the primary provider of federal criminal justice funding to state and local jurisdictions. It offers critical funding necessary to support a range of program areas, including law enforcement.

The Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Department will submit an application for funding through the JAG Program in July and is required to provide an opportunity for the public to comment or ask questions about the application process prior to submission.

The total funding available to the sheriff’s department through the JAG Program is $27,071.

For more information or to submit a public comment, please call Grants Administrator Vincent Pokluda at (575) 525-8838. The deadline to comment is July 3, 2013.
