BUREAU OF ELECTIONS HOSTS MEETINGS TO SHOW OFF MACHINES

The Doña Ana County Bureau of Elections has scheduled a series of community meetings to introduce new vote-tabulation machines to the public in advance of the June 3 Primary Elections.

Voters will still hand-mark paper ballots and then feed those ballots into tabulating machines, and each machine will have counters to keep track of the number of ballots scanned.

New features include added convenience for disabled voters, as well as increased security to protect the ballots and further ensure the integrity of the voting process.

The new machines will be available for demonstration at each of the community meetings.

The meetings also will provide an opportunity for residents to register to vote, and staff will be on hand to present information about early and absentee voting, as well as the operation and locations of Voter Convenience Stations.

Each of the community meetings is open to the public. The meetings will be held at the following locations on the dates indicated. Each meeting will begin at 6 p.m.

Monday, April 28: Sunland Park City Hall

Tuesday, April 29 at the Doña Ana Community College Learning Center in Hatch

Wednesday, April 30 at the Betty McKnight Community Center

Thursday, May 1 at Anthony City Hall
