CLERK’S ARCHIVES TO BE FEATURED AT OCT. 14 EVENT

 

                 The Doña Ana County Clerk’s Office will participate in the 2017 Border Archives Bazaar, featuring historical collections from the border region.

             Sponsored by the Border Regional Archives Group and hosted by the New Mexico Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum, the event will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14, featuring historical manuscripts, photographs, maps, publications, films and more that highlight the unique history and culture of the region.

            Archivists, librarians and museum curators will be on hand to discuss and answer questions about archives, regional history and preserving documents. Scan stations will provide free (limited) digitization services for family photographs, documents and audiovisual materials brought in by the public.

             The event also will include short talks and workshops on regional history, genealogy, preserving family archives, oral history, researching historic buildings and neighborhoods, and digitizing old media.

              Other participating archives will be from New Mexico State University and the University of Texas at El Paso.
