COMMUNITY ROADSIDE CLEANUP ON FRIDAY

COMMUNITY ROADSIDE CLEANUP ON FRIDAY

Three agencies will combine efforts to help clean up roadside littering and illegal dumping in the Butterfield Community northeast of Las Cruces on Friday, June 6, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.

The South Central Solid Waste Authority, Bureau of Land Management (promoting the new NoThrow Illegal Dumping phone APP for Dona Ana County), and Keep Dona Ana County Beautiful, with the help of Soldier volunteers from White Sands Missile Range, will spend three hours completing the project.

“White Sands Missile Range is a part of this community, and it’s great to see our Soldiers spending their free time to help keep it a beautiful one.” said Drew Hamilton from the White Sands Missile Range Public Affairs Office.

Members of the Butterfield community are also encouraged to participate and provide their support for the cleanup.

The starting point for the cleanup will be outside the Butterfield Community Center, under a canopy set up by County Codes Enforcement.  Trash bags, gloves, bottled water will be provided, and a lunch donated by local businesses is planned for 11:30.
