COUNTY ACCEPTING SOUTH VALLEY DEVELOPMENT APPLICATIONS

COUNTY ACCEPTING SOUTH VALLEY DEVELOPMENT APPLICATIONS

The Doña Ana County Planning and Zoning Department is now handling applications for development within a 56-mile service area in the southern part of the county, situated between the City of Sunland Park and Santa Teresa.

The move is part of a joint-power agreement under the Camino Real Regional Utility Authority (CRRUA), made official on May 14, 2014.  Under the JPA, applications for land-use development, residential, commercial or industrial zoning changes, transportation planning or any other proposed development will be submitted through the Doña Ana County Planning and Zoning Department and then presented to the CRRUA zoning board for approval.

The service area borders the City of Sunland Park to the east, the Santa Teresa Jet port and Borderland Road to the north and the Santa Teresa Port of Entry to the south. The area also straddles approximately four miles of the U.S./Mexican border.

Development applications can be submitted during normal business hours at the Doña Ana County Community Development Department, 845 N. Motel Blvd., in Las Cruces.
