FIRE DESTROYS CHAPARRAL HOME

              Doña Ana County Fire and Emergency Services personnel responded to a fire Wednesday afternoon that completely destroyed a Chaparral home and temporarily displaced a family of seven.

            At 1:45 p.m., fire crews with Anthony, Chaparral and Otero County responded to a call in the 2200 block of Desert Air.  Doña Ana County Sheriff’s deputies also responded to assist with traffic control.

            The fire was brought under control in a matter of minutes. No physical injuries were reported.

            No one was home at the time the fire started. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Doña Ana County Fire Marshal’s Office.

            The American Red Cross is assisting the two adults who lived in the single-wide mobile home, along with their five children, ranging from one to 18 years of age.
