MONSOON RAINS FLOOD SHELTER WITH RABBITS

A weekend of heavy rain throughout Doña Ana County has resulted in a flood of rabbits that are now awaiting adoption at the Animal Services Center of the Mesilla Valley.

In the past two weeks, 31 rabbits have been taken to the shelter – 18 of which were brought in on Monday. At least two female rabbits were brought in with their bunny babies as well.

Shelter director Dr. Beth Vesco-Mock hopes the rabbits can all be adopted out. The shelter also offers affordable spay and neuter procedures for rabbits at a rate of $25 if you currently own a rabbit that needs the alteration.
