RURAL OUTREACH ASSISTANCE PROGRAM HEADS TO MESQUITE

The Doña Ana County Community and Constituent Services Office has scheduled a community outreach meeting in Mesquite to help residents from that area with getting assistance from local, state and federal government agencies.

The Mesquite Mobile Constituent Services Outreach Clinic will be offered from 5:30-6:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 21, at Our Lady of Perpetual Health Parish Hall at 125 W. Mesquite Dr. A representative from Congressman Steve Pearce’s Las Cruces field office and District 1 Doña Ana County Commissioner Billy G. Garrett have been invited to attend.

Community and Constituent Services Manager Liz Reed and her staff are coordinating with the southern New Mexico congressional delegation to ensure that each outreach event offers the maximum capability to address a broad range of needs and issues.

“The purpose of this program is to make government more accessible for constituents, especially those who reside in rural areas,” Reed said. “We realize that in most cases, we won’t be able to solve a problem on the spot, but we will be positioned to point people toward the right offices, entities and individuals who can offer the quickest and most reliable response to whatever issue arises.”
