In addressing overwhelming concerns about COVID-19, officers with the Animal Control and Codes Enforcement division will respond to calls on a priority basis. Our primary mission is to ensure the safety and health of both people and animals in Doña Ana County. Please have patience as we respond to calls. As always, if there is an emergency, please call 911. In the meantime, here are some things you can do to ensure your companion animals are protected during these trying times:

Our mission is to provide efficient and quality service to the citizens of Dona Ana County by providing protection for them and their property from the dangers and nuisances caused by stray animals, to protect pets from the cruelty they may face from irresponsible citizens, and to educate the public in the responsibilities of pet ownership, animal control, care, and welfare.
The purpose of this site is to provide the residents of Doña Ana County with information about animal control services and ordinances. Simply click on the section in which you are interested. - Summers Hours: 7 a.m. - 9 p.m. seven days per week
- Overnight On-Call (for emergencies only)
Contact numbers for Animal Control Service:
- Non-emergency: 526-0795 and choose option 6. (Mesilla Valley Regional Dispatch) This will take you to a dispatch operator who will dispatch an Animal Control Officer to the location you give. You can remain anonymous or if you would like the officer to contact you, provide your information to the dispatch operator.
- Overnight On-Call (for emergencies only): 911
- For low cost Spay or Neuter surgery: Call SNAP at 575-524-9265 or a local vet.
- For microchipping: Call the Animal Services Center at 575-382-0018 or a local vet.
- For missing pet: Call the Animal Services Center of the Mesilla Valley, (575) 382-0018.

- Dogs attacking livestock or dogs fighting
- Dog bites to humans
