  • DOÑA ANA COUNTY AIRPORT TO HOST WOMEN RACE PILOTS - 06/12/2006

    The 30th Annual Air Race Classic all-women’s transcontinental air race (ARC) will take place June 20-23, 2006. This year’s race will begin in Mesa, Arizona, and end in Menominee, Mich., with stops along the way in Santa Teresa, N.M., Ozona and Bryan, Texas, Bastrop, La., Ada, Okla., and Lawrence, Kan.

    Officers from the Doña Ana County Sheriff's Department, the Doña Ana County Detention Center, the New Mexico State Police, the Las Cruces Police Department and the New Mexico State University Fire Department will volunteer their time on Saturday, June 10, for a benefit car wash, proceeds of which will go to the family of Deputy Scott Knoll. Other agencies may also participate.

    Doña Ana County is seeking volunteers to serve its health services alliance, which works through the county’s Health and Human Services Department to advise the Board of County Commissioners on a wide range of health care and human services issues.

  • CHAPARRAL ANIMAL-RELOCATION PROJECT UNDERWAY TODAY - 05/30/2006

    The Doña Ana County Sheriff's Department is working with animal shelters in Las Cruces, El Paso, Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Denver and Phoenix to relocate more than 100 animals housed at a makeshift shelter on the property of a Chaparral resident. All of the animals were found to have adequate shade, food and water.

  • 86 DOGS, 35 CATS, OTHER ANIMALS TO BE RELOCATED FROM CHAPARRAL RESIDENCE - 05/26/2006

    The Doña Ana County Sheriff's Department is working with animal shelters in El Paso, Albuquerque, Santa Fe and Phoenix to relocate more than 100 animals recently discovered at a Chaparral residence.
