For the second consecutive year, Doña Ana County employees have opened their wallets and hearts to bring holiday cheer to some of the area’s poorest families. Nearly 300 county employees representing all the county’s departments have contributed to the 2005 Colonias Toy Drive.
Tortugas Road from South Main to Tigua Drive will be closed for three days, beginning Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005. The closures will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day to facilitate utility work. Detour routes will be posted.

The Doña Ana County Juvenile Detention Facility will sponsor Halloween activities and contests for dozens of young people who are locked up in the facility. This is the fourth year that Halloween activities have been incorporated into the juvenile-detention calendar.
