Doña Ana County Sheriff’s deputies were involved in an incident early this morning that resulted in several shots being fired and a fatality. A press conference will be held at 2 p.m. today in the training room of the Doña Ana County Sheriff's Department headquarters to brief the media on the incident.

Construction begins today on Doña Ana County’s new administrative complex on North Motel Boulevard. Wooten Construction of Las Cruces is the general contractor on the $20.1 million project. A ceremonial groundbreaking was held last December on the 24-acre county-owned site.
