Roberto Estrada, the star of the Whole Enchilada Fiesta, will be recognized at the Sept. 23 regular meeting of the Doña Ana County Board of Commissioners for his work to promote Las Cruces, as well as for his many years of civic contributions to Doña Ana County.
The Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Department and the New Mexico State Police will offer a 2003 Citizens’ Academy beginning Oct. 14, once again inviting interested residents of Doña Ana County to better understand how rural law enforcement functions.
Chairman Paul B. Curry of the Doña Ana County Board of Commissioners has finalized with Las Cruces Mayor Bill Mattiace a series of public meetings to provide updates on the status of Memorial Medical Center and the efforts of the city and county to preserve the hospital as a viable community asset.
One of the stated goals of the Doña Ana County Board of Commissioners for 2003 is to identify meaningful and realistic ways by which living conditions in the county’s 37 designated colonias can be improved.
A public meeting will be held Thursday, Aug. 14, 2003, at 6 p.m. in the Doña Ana County Commission Chambers at 251 W. Amador Ave., to receive public input concerning county preparations for a Storm Water Management Plan (SWMP).
